The Hampshire Hub began in 2009 and today it is a large thriving Hub based at Christ Church in Winchester. The Hub is equipped with great facilities for our students to use. Our heart is to see that every Christian in this region has access to quality theological education so that they can engage with whilst remaining in their existing life space. Students in our Hub are from multiple streams and denominations and of varying ages, socio-economic groups and backgrounds all coming together to learn in the context of a missional, worshipping community.
We see our students being equipped to be fully who they are and to fully engage with their calling, while moving into a deeper and more purposeful intimacy with Jesus is what makes us excited. We work with real questions and real life challenges, but wisdom from the Holy Spirit and theological rigour is a dynamic combination that is life-changing.
The Hampshire Hub meets on a Monday evening between 6 and 10pm.
Hub Director – Deborah Chua
Hi, I am Deborah, Hub Director for Hampshire. Originally from London, I love being based in the Hampshire area, after many years living in Asia. We have had a close connection with Winchester through my sons’ school and Christ Church Winchester for the last 10 years.
It was at a Christ Church service around 5 years ago that my husband and I first heard about WTC: however, we were still living and working in Asia and could not enrol. When we moved back to Hampshire in summer 2015, however, we both immediately signed up to their Grad Dip programme and we loved the course’s rigorous theological content, Faculty who walk the talk, passionate worship and the wonderful sense of community and fellowship in the Hampshire Hub and across the wider WTC body. Studying Kingdom Theology with WTC is life-giving, inspiring, Spirit-led and incredibly supportive: it is a place where God meets you, brings transformation and expands your theological understanding and its relevance to your work, life and calling, building the Kingdom of God.
Unity in and across the church is very close to my heart and vision, and key for me at WTC is the diversity of our student population – from different walks of life, ages and stages, and church backgrounds, we all learn, grow and worship together. We currently draw students from as far as Oxford and Poole as well as from the immediate vicinity. I count it a privilege to be part of such a diverse body of students as it fulfils Jesus’ prayer in John 17, “that they may all be one…May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me…May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
If you are interested in exploring study with us, I would be delighted to chat with you over the phone on 07562 186304, via email, or face to face over a coffee.
Accessibility: We use the first floor of the building the Hub meets in and there is currently no lift access. Should you have a disability that would mean this is problematic for you, please do get in touch so that we can make adequate provision on the ground floor.
