Hi there! I’m Andrew, the East Midlands Hub Director. I live in Derby with my incredible wife and our two daughters. In the (rather rare!) spare moments I get, I enjoy hiking, airsoft, weight training, reading, and watching films.

My journey into theology began early in life after being diagnosed with a severe autoimmune disease. Wrestling with suffering and big questions about God led me to pursue a degree in Philosophical Theology at Oxford, before continuing my studies with a PhD at the University of Birmingham.

I have a real passion to see people from all backgrounds grow in their understanding of God, so they can be better equipped to live out and share God’s love. We can know God without formal study, but theology plays a vital role in deepening, clarifying, and maturing that knowledge, helping us attend more carefully to who God is and how we relate to him.

My hope is that our Hub will be a place where faith is nurtured and deepened, questions and doubts are welcomed, and all are encouraged to grow in empathy, humility, and love, especially toward those with different perspectives. My role as Hub Director is to support this process by creating a healthy learning environment, hosting engaging Hub evenings, and offering pastoral and academic support as students navigate their theological journeys.
